Hint Number Twelve
Most people in the cleaning business understand that doing add-on jobs for the
customer really boosts your bottom line. After all, you're already there so you've paid your
transportation cost out of your original bill. In the same way, you have paid your
overhead costs already too. So the profit for add-on jobs can be quite high even if you
don't charge that much.
But how do you know what your customer wants? Ask. You can create a simple list with
check boxes on it for each of the services you provide and include it with your bill.
And I would also include a write-in area for clients to suggest jobs they want done.
Bonus Hint
Here'an add-on job that is often very popular with customers but cleaning services
often overlook.... In most offices there is a food preparation area and nine
times out of ten you will find a sink there with dirty dishes in it. These dirty plates can
be a real bone of contention with nobody wanting to look
at them and nobody willing to do them. Having you do the dishes, dump out any
leftovers and clean the refrigerator
lets management avoid having to nag their employees or deal with dirty plates and
moldy food.
