You must have some way of measuring the results from your advertising; otherwise you are simply taking it on faith that it works.

Use coupons or include the phrase "mention this ad to get 10% off" or use some other means to keep track of how you get your customers. Too many people in our business simply play copycat and run the same kind of unsuccessful advertising their competition is using. This is the road to bankruptcy.
