A Month of Hints for Your Cleaning Business

Always be a teacher

James Nokes

Hi:

I'm James Nokes from The Cleaning Institute
Here is hint number twenty one, I hope you enjoy it.

Hint Number Twenty One

Well trained cleaning employees are more productive and are less likely to quit. But good training doesn't come from nowhere, you have to supply it.

Fortunately, cleaning isn't rocket science. It involves simple physical processes which are fairly easy to demonstrate. Often you can show a person how to do a specific job, then work with them for the day while they master their new skill. By the end of the day they will be almost as fast as an experienced employee. That's how I learned to clean windows and to buff floors years ago.

Eventually, you will have enough cleaners so that you don't have time to teach them all yourself. Delegate it to an experienced employee, this is good training for people you want to promote to crew chief.
