(My View)
This is one of my favorite videos, most of the others teach your employees specific
job skills but this one teaches them how to become cleaning professionals.
One of the main points of my manual is that you should avoid competing on price.
In the cleaning field there will always be someone who will do the job more cheaply
than you will, even if it bankrupts them.
You need to compete on quality to succeed in the cleaning field. But quality is
not just defined by how well you clean a building it's also based on the subjective
judgement the client makes of your cleaning staff.
This judgement is made on the basis of how they look: Are they clean and
neat? Do they wash their hands frequently? Do they have company shirts or uniforms?
And it is made on the basis of how they act: Are they friendly without being
too chatty? Do they "help themselves" to things? Do they bring friends or family to
work with them? Do they snack while they work?
One employee, seen munching on a Butterfingers while he dusts an office can
undo months of hard work on your part. But
the companies that succeed in being seen as cleaning professionals are the companies
that can charge top dollar and still grow at a vigorous pace no matter what the economy
is like.

As with all of ATV's products this video has high-quality production values and has
been updated within the last several years. It has an interactive format in which it
asks questions and pauses so the viewer can write down the answer. This allows you to make
sure your employees are paying attention. Because of the well written scripts, video
demonstrations and the question-and-answer format, viewers of these tapes have a
very high level of information retention.
