 Asthma & Janitors

 Here's the Problem

One in five Americans suffers from allergies to airborne particles such as pollen, mold, dust mites or animal dander. Asthma, triggered by airborne dust, afflictes 23 million Americans. And asthma can lead to chronic lung diseases such as bronchitis and emphysema.

A recent medical study analyzed data from people who were asked about their asthma symptoms. Cleaners were the largest of 16 occupational groups to show an increase in asthma of more than 30 percent as a consequence of their job.

 Here's Part of the Solution

The main source of airborne particles for cleaners is vacuuming.

Here's a practical way to reduce airborne particles. Always use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) filters in all your vacuums. OEM filter bags are engineered to provide optimum fit, filtration and suction in the application. The materials are first quality and filters are manufactured with the best technology for optimal performance.

Generic filter bags are generally targeted at budget customers and often sacrifice performance to ensure a low price. Poor performance in a vacuum doesn't just mean more work and poor cleaning results; it means you will create more of the airborne dust that triggers and aggravates asthma and other lung ailments.

It Doesn't Always Pay to Count the Pennies

There are plenty of ways to cut costs in this business but using bargain filter bags for your vacuums is not one of them. Spend a few extra cents and purchase OEM bags. You will do yourself, your employees and your customers a favor.
