 Disposable Cleaning Wipes

Cleaning wipes are disposable wipes with different types of cleaning compounds pre-applied to them. The type of cleaning compound used determines the use the wipes are put to. There are PC & Electronics wipes, furniture wipes, wipes for treating stains, disinfectant wipes, pH neutral general cleaning wipes. For almost any kind of cleaning job you might want to do you can find a wipe to do it.

And don't let the term 'disposable' fool you - many of these products are very sturdy. They are reinforced with cellulose, strong, and reusable. They are used more and more often by professional cleaners everyday. The question I want to answer here is why.

Disposable Cleaning Wipes -- Their Advantages

I've talked before about the need for mixing cleaning chemicals in proper amounts and not 'playing chemist' by mixing two or more chemicals together to produce better cleaning results.

Cleaning wipes solve the problem by coming with the cleaning chemical already applied in the right amount and the right cpncentration always.

They also speed up the flow of cleaning work because your crew members won't have to stop in the middle of a job and fix up more cleaning compound for their spray bottle.

I don't know of any state that prohibts the use of sponges when cleaning food service or preparation areas but many cities have local prohibitions against them. That's because sponges serve as breeding grounds for bacteria. And to a lesser degree so do ordinary cloth cleaning towels. Disposables eliminate this problem by being disposable. When they're done just get rid of them - germs and all.

Disposable cleaning wipes make the job of management (your job) easier too. All you cleaning stock, whether it's your vehicles, buffers, or cleaning chemicals have to be controlled, kept track of, and assigned to employees as needed. Disposables are easy to keep track of and when your done with them you can just throw them away; Unlike cleaning cloths that have to be collected and laundered when they get dirty.

Disposables are also easy to keep track of -- you can have your workers return the used ones in clear plastic bags so you can be sure that all wipes you send out are used on the job and not taken home with your employees.

Specialty cleaning wipes can also reduce product clutter from your employees work lives. You can determine the type of wipes to use for each of the cleaning jobs on a particular account and send your employees out with the right wipes for the each job they will need them for, and nothing extra. No unnecessary cleaning products or supplies means less time looking for the right cleaning tool and fewer errors.

Disposable also don't add to the burden of chemicals in the air of any buildings you clean. With more and attention being given to indoor air pollution (I did an article on IAP - Indoor Air Quality not to long ago) this is becoming a very important issue and can be a good selling point for you. Not to mention healthier for you and any of your employees who clean the building.

Some examples of disposable cleaning wipes

I did a quick online search on disposables. Because they are being used more and more by professional cleaners there are all sorts of sources for them; both for general purpose cleaning and specialized cleaning tasks. Click here to see what I came up with.
