FYI
This time out I wanted to intoduce you all to CleanHound.com which is a Search Engine for cleaning business professionals.
I wanted to show it to you both as evidence of the growing presence and commercial power of cleaning businesses online and I wanted my readers to be aware of it as a neat resource. I look online for cleaning business information all the time and I find that using CleanHound.com to do my Searches gives me much more relevant information than using Google or one of the other general Search Engines would.

CleanHound.com
Here's how CleanHound.com introduces itself:
CleanHound is a comprehensive search engine for cleaning professionals that searches over 900 cleaning-related sites on the web.
CleanHound is trained to search only industry-related Web sites, including Manufacturer sites, Association sites, Government Agency sites and Cleaning Industry Publication sites. This loyal search engine doesn't waste time chasing its tail. It relentlessly runs down the specific search results you need and brings them to your desktop.
Let's take this dog for a run around the park!
Of course the best way to see what CleanHound can do is to just try it out. I have been thinking about doing an article on cleaning floors covered with tile and grout so I used CleanHound to look up the words "grout and tile" with the quotation marks around them. When you look up a term on CleanHound they give you one of two choices. You can do a Products search or an Article search. Since I wanted to get information about cleaning and maintaining tiles and grout, not buy a product to clean tiles and grout, I searched through their articles.
I got 32 articles in my search which was a much more reasonable number than than the 12,010 items I got making the same search on Google.com - and the first item on google's list was from "the blog archives of Micah and Susan" which was basically a couple's online diary about their efforts to fix up their house; obviously not relevant to my search for cleaning information about tiles and grout.
CleanHound.com's first Non-Sponsored article was from bsmmag.com, which is the Building Services Management website and was entitled:
An Every Day Challenge, Making Tile and Grout Maintenance Easier was just the kind of thing I was looking for.
Some of the other article titles I found were: Gaining a Foothold by Tackling Slippery Situations which was about a cleaning business owners adventures in cleaning a restaurnat's greasy kitchen floor. Some of the others were, Get down to the nitty gritty with tile and grout cleaning; and Addressing Urine on Restroom
Floors which needs no explanation...
And even just looking at the names of the websites these articles were on, sites like: http://www.sanitarymaintenancemag.com, http://www.bscai.org (building service contractor's association, international) and http://www.cleanfax.com tells you that these are serious articles written for people in the cleaning professions.

And back it up with sold information from an authoritative source?
One company has 24 page long, online brochure rich in information you can use to promote your cleaning service if you use the "green" cleaning products they sell. Here are a couple of quotes from their brochure so that you can see how powerful a selling tool you can have through them.
...Green Seal standards are recognized
by the Federal Government for
meeting environmentally preferable
product standards for use in federal
facilities.
Green Seal is an independent,
non-profit organization that strives to
achieve a healthier and cleaner
environment by identifying and
promoting products and services
... and minimize global
warming and ozone depletion.
Green Seal has no financial interest
in the products that it certifies or
recommends or in any manufacturer
or company. Green Seal's
evaluations are based on state-ofthe-
art science and information
using internationally recognized
methods and procedures. |
This company is a private firm but they have the power and prestige of Green Seal behind them as a selling tool. I wanted you to see their brochure so that you would see the power that "Green Cleaning" has. I don't make anything if you buy from them so I won't quote you any of their prices.
The brochure is in PDF format which requires anAdobe Reader. If you don't have one already you can get a Reader for free at: Adobe.com
Click Here if you want to view (or download) the brochure for yourself.
